Проект «Кавказский фронт», посвящённый битве за Кавказ, стартовал со съёмок документального фильма «14 дней» — об оккупации высокогорного села Псху во время Великой Отечественной войны 1941-1945 годов.
В состав экспедиции, которая прошла с 8 по 12 июля вошли: директор культурного фонда «Платформа», автор проекта «Кавказский фронт», режиссёр документального фильма «14 дней» Дмитрий Статейнов, автор проекта Сергей Серкин, антрополог, старший научный сотрудник отдела теории и методики (группа физической антропологии) Институт археологии РАН, кандидат исторических наук Татьяна Шведчикова, оператор Сергей Язвинский, представитель Московского культурно-делового центра «Дом Москвы» в Сухуме Мария Соя, а также волонтёры — Дмитрий Кулаковский, Владимир Остапиенко, Ольга Кожевникова, Дарина Соя, Лаура Статейнова.
Помимо съёмок документального фильма «14 дней», участники экспедиции провели съёмку, сбор информации для будущей фотовыставки, посвящённой селу Псху и рекогнисцировку местности, проехали по всем известным захоронениям, каждое из которых получило свои GPS-координаты, привели в надлежащий вид воинское захоронение на окраине села Псху, а также исследовали участок, где находился дом, в котором располагался штаб немецких захватчиков.
«Нам удалось отснять достаточное количество фактуры и интервью с местными жителями, которые станут основой для будущего фильма. Также мы нашли много интересных архивных фотографий. Фильм планируем показать в сентябре-октябре 2023 года», — сказал режиссёр Дмитрий Статейнов.
По словам антрополога Татьяны Шведчиковой, в планах у участников проекта создание единого ресурса, с помощью которого пользователи смогут получить информацию о захороненных в селе людях. «Важно, чтобы такая работа поддерживалась, это помогает сохранять связь поколений. Сама история села заслуживает отдельного внимания. Одна из задач проекта – попытаться захватить историю села с таким самобытным укладом», – подчеркнула она.
Представитель МКДЦ «Дом Москвы» в Сухуме Мария Соя сказала, что на перевале Пыв и на окраине села Псху планируется оказание помощи культурному фонду «Платформа» в реставрации двух памятников солдатам, погибшим в Битве за Кавказ.
Руководство культурного фонда «Платформа» выражает особую благодарность бывшему главе села Псху, депутату сухумского районного собрания Даниилу Зухба, а также главе села Псху Петру Новинкину, начальнику пожарно-спасательного поста МЧС Абхазии Сергею Зинченко, Погрануправлению ФСБ России в Абхазии, генеральному директору топливной компании ООО «Апсны-Ойл» Олегу Лакоба, президенту Абхазского географического общества Леварду Барцыц, руководителю клуба «Внедорожная Абхазия» Сергею Никитченко, руководителю Центра правозащиты российских граждан в Абхазии Елене Жилинской, Астамуру Отырба.
Культурный фонд «Платформа» в конце апреля 2021 года презентовал масштабный проект «Кавказский фронт», посвященный 80-летию Битвы за Кавказ. Основные его мероприятия пройдут в 2022-2023 годах.
В 2022 году исполняется 80 лет с момента начала одной из наиболее затяжных и кровопролитных кампаний Великой Отечественной войны 1941-1945 годов — битвы за Кавказ (25 июля 1942 — 9 октября 1943). Одним из основных очагов сопротивления немецко-фашистским войскам на юге СССР стали перевалы абхазского участка Главного Кавказского хребта — Клухорский, Марухский и Санчарский. В ходе боев смертью храбрых пали десятки тысяч солдат и офицеров РККА. Останки около 15 тысяч из них до сих пор лежат не погребёнными на перевалах, в ущельях и на склонах гор.
31 июля 2020 года Президент России Владимир Путин подписал Федеральный закон «О внесении изменения в статью 1 Федерального закона «О днях воинской славы и памятных датах России». 9 октября объявлено Днём разгрома советскими войсками немецко-фашистских войск в битве за Кавказ (1943 год).
