Мероприятие в честь 170-летия крупного русского мецената Николая Смецкого, оставившего неизгладимый след в развитии и истории Абхазии, прошло во вторник в Московском культурно-деловом центре «Дом Москвы» в Сухуме.
Мероприятие организовано Московским культурно-деловым центром «Дом Москвы» в Сухуме с культурным фондом «Платформа».
В рамках мероприятия прошла интерактивная лекция с выставкой старинных фотографий исторических объектов и парков Смецкого в Абхазии.
Открывая мероприятие представитель МКДЦ «Дом Москвы» в Сухуме Мария Соя отметила, что Николай Смецкой был одним из первых меценатов еще дореволюционной Абхазии, во многом предопределившим курортно-лечебный ландшафт абхазского побережья, выведя его значительную часть на мировой уровень.
«Хозяйственный гений Смецкого и его благотворительность сыграли большую роль в развитии Абхазии. История его жизни неразрывно связана с историей Абхазии. Поэтому нам очень важно сохранять историко-культурное наследие и рассказывать молодёжи о таких людях как Николай Смецкой», — подчеркнула она.
В мероприятии приняли участие старшеклассники сухумских школ и студенты Абхазского госуниверситета, а также руководители организаций российских соотечественников в лице председателя исполнительного директора культурного фонда «Платформа» Дмитрия Статейнова, Центра правозащиты российских граждан в Абхазии Елены Жилинской, заведующей отделом культуры администрации Гулрыпшского района, председателя общественной организации «Гулрыпш. Россодружество» Валентины Пицевич, заместителя проректора по молодёжной политике Абхазского госуниверситета Юрия Трувалева и других.
